House Lifting is the process of vertically lifting the complete structure of a home or dwelling above base flood elevation to prevent recurring damage or devastation due to flooding.
House Lifting has been around in the Texas Gulf coast area for many years. In fact in Galveston island was raised more than 5 feet after the 1900 storm. After Katrina, a need to lift homes in New Orleans also created many challenges. Atlas was among those lifting houses above base flood elevation during the recovery efforts.
Over the years, Houston has also faced many flash floods challenges. One of the most memorable was in 2001, when many homes and businesses were devastated by flood waters from tropical storm Allison. At that time, Atlas not only deployed large service trucks to assist in high water rescue, but we also had the pleasure of serving many local residents and business owners with quality repairs to their homes and businesses. Most recently, Houstonians were hit by Hurricane Harvey and its 50+ inches of what seemed like never ending rain. After Harvey, the need for House Lifting services has increased tremendously and Atlas is honored to be able to provide quality services to our beloved community.
